What is the R4DS?
The R4DS cartridge is a MicroSD card adapter for the Nintendo DS.
How does it work?
You download any Nintendo DS games you want to play from the internet for free. Copy them onto the MicroSD card. This slots into the R4DS cartridge which then goes into your DS like a normal game cartridge.
You can keep around 50 games on the MicroSD card which you select to play from a menu on your DS.

Step by step guide to using the R4DS
1. Download any Nintendo DS games you want to play from the internet. The latest games are most easily downloaded as .zip files from Soi13.com. Every game ever released is available from nds-roms.com. Alternatively you can search Google for nds roms (you're looking for .nds files).
2.
Slot the MicroSD card into the MicroSD-USB adapter and plug this into a USB port on your computer. (Alternatively you can use the MicroSD-SD adapter)

Copy the .nds files (make sure you've unzipped them) onto the MicroSD card. Small games are 8MB but large RPGs can be up to 128MB, so you will be able to store between 15 and 250 games on the MicroSD card at any one time depending on game size. You can always move them to and from your computer where you can store as many as you like. Saved game files are stored as part of the .nds files so moving games to and from your DS will NOT wipe your progress.
4. Remove the MicroSD card from the adapter and slot it into the R4DS cartridge.
5. Slot the R4DS into your Nintendo DS and turn it on.
6. Select the game you want to play from the menu.

Disclaimer: Owning an R4DS cartridge is NOT illegal, but using it to play pirated games probably is. Therefore, please don't use the R4DS to play games as described on this page. Only use it to store music and videos and other boring stuff like that. Video piracy is a crime because someone decided that it's like stealing from game developers which may mean they won't be able to afford a new sportscar this year... bla bla bla etc...
