Training yourself not to think about The Game is nearly impossible, and often counter-productive. The best strategies involve causing others to lose more than yourself. The best way to do this is to always announce your loss to as many people as possible. This reminds current players about The Game and initiates new ones. It is very difficult to consciously cause someone to lose without losing yourself. You can try and cause others to associate objects or events with The Game. For example, you could tell a friend that whenever they see their bed they will lose. This can back-fire unless well thought out, in this example you could end up associating your bed with loss. An object which is only found in your friend's room would be a better target. |
Reminders
A much less subtle technique involves leaving reminders in places that will be seen by others more than yourself. This could include graffiti, notes & signs, forum posts, messenger names, answerphone messages and much more.
Wearing a Game t-shirt should cause everyone around you to lose without you losing yourself. It also initiates new players with ease.
Other Languages
Around 500 million people speak English. The Game's translation into Mandarin creates another billion potential losers of The Game. 500 million people speak Hindi. Spanish = 400 million. Arabic = 250 million. Indonesian = 200 million etc... If you speak any language other than English, please translate the rules for us here.
LoseTheGame.com
Use LoseTheGame.com to initiate people into The Game in situations where the rules cannot be explained. For example, writing
on bank notes (dollar bills) will lead players to the rules via this site.

If you have access to a vehicle, make a sign to go on the back window. This one was made using tape, marker pen and Tipp-Ex (correction fluid):

Wikipedia
Wikipedia.org is the 8th most visited website on the internet, and as anyone can edit almost any page, it is an ideal place to make people lose The Game. We suggest adding the rules or links to LoseTheGame.com to the most popular articles. Click "edit this page" at the top of any page. One good tactic is to add subtle or amusing references to The Game into the featured articles and news stories linked to from the Wikipedia main page. These will be reverted quickly but you'll still cause a lot of people to lose.Alternatively you can just copy and paste in the following text:
MakeWikiLose.exe is a program that replaces "is" with "makes you Lose The Game and is" in random Wikipedia articles. For example, "George Walker Bush (born July 6, 1946) makes you lose The Game and is the forty-third and current President of the United States of America, originally inaugurated on January 20, 2001."
Use it as follows:
- Click here to download Mozilla Firefox
- Install and run Firefox.
- Go to Tools, Options, Content and uncheck the "Load images automatically" checkbox.
- Type "http://en.wikipedia.org" into the address bar and load the Wikipedia main page.
- Click here to download MakeWikiLose.exe
- Run MakeWikiLose.exe
- Before clicking "OK", make sure you have Firefox displaying Wikipedia behind the "Make Wikipedia lose The Game" message box.
- After you click "OK" don't do anything to your computer. Pressing buttons or clicking the mouse will stop the program from working properly. Don't be alarmed when the program starts typing stuff into Wikipedia or running Notepad.
- To stop MakeWikiLose.exe from running click the icon in the notification area of your taskbar (at the bottom right of the screen).
If you have any problems using MakeWikiLose.exe please email us at mail@losethegame.com
